During Advent, students at Holy Cross Academy in
Fredericksburg decided to tell the Christmas story visually
through the school hallways. Each grade worked on one of the
Christmas mysteries and created a panorama of the event.

The displays spanned the whole Christmas story:
Kindergartners started with the Annunciation; first-graders
illustrated Mary’s visit to Elizabeth; second-graders created
their display of the birth of Jesus; third-graders showed the
shepherds; and fourth-graders displayed the kings’ journey to
the manger. The Nativity display culminated in the
fifth-graders’ interpretation of the presentation of Jesus in
the Temple.

The children from each grade will present a reflection on the
mystery that they displayed for the entire school. The class
will write it together and a few children from the grade will
read it for the school after morning prayer each day
beginning Dec. 15.
