Bishop Joseph Chau Ngoc Tri of the Da Nang, Vietnam Diocese
celebrated the children’s Mass for more than 600 children at
Holy Martyrs of Vietnam Church in Arlington Oct. 3.
Before Mass, Bishop Tri blessed a statue of Our Lady of La
Vang, patroness of Vietnam. Made out of marble from a quarry
in Da Nang, the statue honors the Blessed Virgin who appeared
in the village of La Vang in 1798.
