The Knights of Columbus Council 8183 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Lake Ridge hosted an “Italian night” dinner last month to foster a greater community of faith.
The council served a crowd of more than 150 people Jan. 27 with salad, pasta and meatballs.
The dinner was part of a council effort to bring the community together and create an atmosphere where parishioners and non-parishioners can engage with the Christian community in a friendly and upbeat manner.
A print of “The Annunciation” by Blessed Fra Angelico, a 15th-century Dominican artist and the patron saint of Catholic artists, was raffled. The picture sparked several conversations about the artist and the rosary, and added a spiritual component to the dinner.
During Lent, the Knights will host soup dinners at the parish’s Seton Hall on Fridays from 5-7 p.m. through March 22. All are welcome.
