Becoming peacemakers and healers in relationships begins with cordiality, intentional pleasantness, neighborliness and gentleness, taught St. Francis de Sales.
“It may not seem impressive, but that’s the nature of little virtues,” said Oblate Father Thomas F. Dailey, keynote speaker at Live Jesus! 2022, a half-day Lenten retreat based on the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal, sponsored by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales March 26 at St. John Neumann Church in Reston.
Father Dailey is a nationally known author and professor of theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, Pa. The theme of this year’s retreat was “Healing Relationships … Let it Begin with Me.” More than 600 people attended the event, which was canceled for the past two years due to the pandemic.
The event also featured discussions of “Friendship, Foundation and Family,” by Sister Anne Elizabeth Eder, OSFS; Brother Dan Wisniewski, OSFS; and Paula Riley. A Mass followed the talks.
