Mendez-Hall appointed assistant superintendent

Joseph Vorbach, diocesan superintendent of schools, said Christina Mendez-Hall will be the new assistant superintendent in the diocesan schools office, effective May 12.

Mendez-Hall is assistant superintendent for Catholic identity and accreditation for the Washington archdiocese. She supports the work of pastors and principals relating to Catholic identity; supervises the director for early childhood and seven early learning centers; and works to equip teachers and staff for success.

Before that, Mendez-Hall served for more than a decade as principal at Catholic schools in Fort Worth, Texas and Houston.

She earned her doctorate in education in ethical leadership from the University of St. Thomas in Houston with a thesis focus on Catholic social teaching and inclusion of elementary Catholic school students with disabilities. She earned her master’s in Catholic school leadership from the University of Dallas, and her bachelor’s from the University of St. Thomas.
