Volunteers and organizers from the Mother of Light Center and students from local parochial schools met with Alexandria Mayor Alyia Gaskins for prayer and a discussion of community service and involvement March 26.
Students from nearby Bishop Ireton High School, St. Rita School and St. Stephen’s and Agnes School delivered presentations for the mayor about the center’s afterschool program. Deacon Gerard-Marie Anthony of Holy Trinity Church in Gainesville also participated.
The mayor shared encouraging and inspirational words and agreed to work together with the Mother of Light Center as beacons of hope to the City of Alexandria and beyond.
