The Mother of Light Center is seeking donations ahead of its Christmas Toy Distribution at St. Rita School in Alexandria Dec. 16-17. An anticipated 800-1,000 children aged 1-17 will attend the event.

MOLC is a nonprofit founded in 2019 in Alexandria that serves those experiencing poverty, food insecurity or homelessness.

The nonprofit will accept toy donation dropoffs Monday-Saturday, now through Dec. 15. MOLC also welcomes donations from their Amazon wishlist. Donors may select a toy on the wishlist, pay for the item and enter MOLC’s shipping address. The donation will then be sent directly to the nonprofit.

MOLC serves more than 3,500 families, including 1,600 children, according to Executive Director Matilde Alvarado. “The festive season provides a unique opportunity to share blessings and contribute to creating a positive and meaningful impact on the well-being of numerous families and children,” she said.
