Christendom College in Front Royal broke ground on a new
women’s residence hall Oct. 10. The first new residence hall
in 15 years, the 96-bed St. Clare Hall is expected to be
ready for occupancy by fall 2016.
“It’s been a long time since the campus has seen a
development of this size and value to the student body,” said
Mike Foeckler, vice president for operations and facility
planning. “It’s an exciting time not just for the women of
campus, but for the college as a whole.”
The new hall will feature large suites, complete with living
room spaces. Its location will form a quad with two other
women’s residence halls, St. Catherine of Siena Hall and St.
Edmund Campion Hall.
“Living and recreating comfortably is an important part of
(students’) time here, helping to form them both as students
and as individuals,” said Amanda Graf, director of residence
life. “We’re excited to be offering new and better options
for their future growth as students on this campus.”
