The Catholic University of America in Washington is expanding its Conway School of Nursing and hiring new faculty, thanks to the donations of Bill and Joanne Conway.

The new nursing school is under construction and scheduled to open in January 2024 on the Catholic U. campus.

The openings include dean of administration, assistant professors and professors, acute care adult gerontological nurse practitioners and a program director, mentors, clinical assistant professors and coordinators, and nurse practitioner clinical coordinator.

“We’re looking for world-class faculty members to guide our students to become future leaders in nursing,” said Marie Nolan, dean of the Conway School of Nursing. “It’s the opportunity to bring your whole self to a career in caring — as we embark on our mission to promote human dignity, human flourishing and human freedom.”

In addition to an eight-figure investment in faculty and funding half of the new nursing building, Nolan says the Conways’ gifts will allow the school to double the number of nursing students to 700 in five years.
