More than 750 people of all ages — a record according to parish staff — gathered for the annual parish picnic at Holy Spirit Church in Annandale Sept. 10.

Both parishioners and local neighbors enjoyed food, crafts and fellowship. Servers doled out 650 hamburgers, 550 hot dogs, 500 cotton candies, 365 shaved ices, 265 ice cream servings and more than 1,100 snack bags of chips and cookies.

A new hit this year was a series of medieval activities and demonstrations, including archery, jousting, and crown and shield crafting.
