The Legion of Mary at Good Shepherd Church in Alexandria hosted a celebration of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary June 17.

The celebration began with Mass, followed by a blessing of images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary and an Act of Consecration to the Heart of Mary.

“These images that we bless today are also a reminder that even before our parish family we live our faith in the families we are a part of in our own homes,” said Father Thomas P. Ferguson, pastor. “And just as our church is a sacred space so too, we might think of our homes as a very sacred space as well, a place where God’s love is shared.”
