Porto Charities is accepting nominations for their annual Advocacy Awards through Feb. 9. The awards celebrate the commitment of parishes, schools, educators, employers and peer mentors to include students and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their schools and workplaces. The awards are open to any individual working or serving in the Arlington diocese.
Porto Charities will recognize a school, an educator, a peer mentor and an employer. The awards will be presented at the Advocacy Awards Gala at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria April 20.
Porto Charities is a non-profit in the diocese dedicated to increasing the educational and employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
