Woodbridge-based A Best Choice Mobile Ultrasound and Pregnancy Resource Center recently received a state-of-the-art mobile ultrasound machine from the Knights of Columbus — the 2,000th ultrasound gifted by the Knights as part of their pro-life ultrasound initiative.
“When women in an unplanned pregnancy see the ultrasound image of their baby and hear the heartbeat, there is an immediate connection between mother and child, said Angela Clark, ABC director. “Some women cry, while others smile, and some are shocked and amazed.”
The $35,000 ultrasound machine is a joint gift from the Knights of St. Timothy Church in Chantilly and the fraternal group’s national organization. It was presented during the Knights’ Aug. 5-7 annual meeting, held in Washington this year.
ABC says it has counseled more than 1,500 women and provided 1,250 ultrasound scans since 2019, resulting in more than 223 women choosing to carry their baby to full term.
