Bishop Michael F. Burbidge celebrated a Mass for religious sisters marking jubilees at St. Mary of Sorrows Church in Fairfax May 4.
During Mass, the three jubilarians — Benedictine Sister Mary Ellen Black, Franciscan Sister of the Eucharist Lucia Treanor and Our Lady of La Salette Sister Theresa Hkawn Htoi Kareng — renewed their vows.
Sister Black celebrated 75 years of service while Sisters Kareng and Treanor are in their 25th year as women religious .
Nearly 50 sisters attended the Mass and luncheon that followed.
