Ron Riggins, a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in
Burke, was elected to a three-year term on the National
Service Committee of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. The
election took place last month at the committee’s meeting in
Jacksonville, Fla.
A convert to Catholicism, Riggins is a core team leader for
the Arlington Diocese’s Unbound Prayer Ministry. He also is a
board member and treasurer for Caritas in Veritate
International, a charitable missionary organization.
The National Service Committee is a body of 11 leaders in the
Catholic Charismatic Renewal who work to renew the grace of
Pentecost in the life and mission of the church. Committee
members are elected from among Catholic Charismatic Renewal
leaders and are chosen for their “pastoral and visionary”
gifts.
