Sacred relics presentations coming to five parishes in Arlington diocese March 5-11

Father Carlos Martins, a Vatican-appointed expert on relics, will give a presentation, “Sacred Relics of the Saints: Treasures of the Church,” at five parishes around the diocese March 5-11.

 

The presentations will include a display of more than 150 relics of saints including St. Joseph, St. Maria Goretti, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Faustina Kowalska. There also will be a portion of the veil of Our Lady and one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross. Those in attendance will be able to examine and venerate each relic.

 

Presentations will be March 5 at St. Mary of Sorrows Church, Fairfax; March 6 at St. Bridget of Ireland Church, Berryville; March 7 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Winchester; March 8 at the Basilica of St. Mary, Alexandria; March 9 at St. James Church, Falls Church; and March 11 at St. Agnes Church, Arlington.
