Bishop O’Connell High School has kicked off rehearsals for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved classic, “The Sound of Music.” The production features a cast of 45 including guest performers as the Von Trapp children from local schools such as St. John the Beloved in McLean, along with other public and private elementary and middle schools.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Academy Award-winning film featuring Julie Andrews. Audiences can look forward to timeless songs including “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” and “Climb Every Mountain” performed alongside a professional orchestra supporting the student cast.

The play will run at O’Connell March 27-29. Tickets are available online.
