St. Francis of Assisi School, Triangle:
St. Francis of Assisi School held a coat and clothing drive Nov. 29-Dec. 13. The project was coordinated by St. Francis School alum Jackson Morgan, a senior at St. John Paul the Great Catholic High School in Potomac Shores. For his “Applied Leadership in the Dominican Tradition” class, Morgan organized a service project and decided to help his old school and do something to better the community. Morgan donated more than 50 coats to the Salvation Army.
St. Leo the Great School, Fairfax:
St. Leo the Great School celebrated its annual gift giving Mass Dec. 1. Students brought small Christmas presents to the first Friday school Mass and placed them on the sanctuary steps. The school collected more than 600 presents, which were split between Toys for Tots and the San Carlos diocese in Venezuela.
St. Michael School, Annandale:
Between Thanksgiving and the start of Advent, the students of St. Michael School collected new toys for their annual contribution to Toys-for Tots. The classes of the K-8 elementary competed against each other to collect the most toys. The school collected 225 toys and sent the donations to the drive’s Knights of Columbus collection center Dec. 8.
St. Patrick School, Fredericksburg:
Students from St. Patrick School visited the elderly at Spring Arbor Senior Living in Fredericksburg Dec. 5. The students sang Christmas carols and danced for the residents. The merry carols included, “The Butterfly Song,” “Away in a Manger,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” In return, residents read “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “The Night Before Christmas” to the students.
