Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria is in the initial phases of the renovation of the St. Francis de Sales Chapel. The chapel was dedicated in 1967 and has had only minor improvements over the years. The space will be transformed within its existing footprint.

The architect for the project is C.J. Howard of C.J. Howard Architecture and the construction company is K3 Construction Group. This expected completion date for the project is late fall 2024 in conjunction with the school’s 60th anniversary.
This project will involve changes and improvements including a new gabled roof with architectural details including east and west transepts with crosses; a bell tower visible from all sides of campus; a front plaza for gathering and main entrance off the circle drive; a transformed narthex with St. Francis de Sales Shrine; religious stained-glass windows in the vestibule and above the altar; and expanded seating.
