The garden plots at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington were a hub of activity this summer. Members of the school’s Disciples in Gardening, or DIG, Club, along with students working to earn Christian Service hours in the spirit of “Feeding the Hungry,” planted, maintained, watered and harvested crops donated to Friends of Urban Agriculture and Arlington Food Assistance Center.

To date, they have donated approximately 20 pounds of potatoes and 30 pounds of additional crops including basil, cucumbers, eggplant, malabar spinach, okra, peppers and zucchini.
