Danny Costa, the new principal at St. Theresa School in Ashburn, brings 30 years of experience in the field of education. He holds a master’s of education in administration and supervision from Marymount University in Arlington and a bachelor’s in exercise and movement from Fresno State University in Fresno, Calif. He was assistant principal at St. Theresa for the past six years. Costa previously taught high school and elementary physical education, and served as a fifth grade teacher, head varsity baseball coach, and assistant football coach.
Emily Reid is the new principal of Linton Hall School in Bristow. A longtime educator and resident of Nokesville, Reid is no stranger to the Linton Hall School community or Catholic education. She previously taught at Linton Hall for nearly 10 years and served as assistant principal at St. Bernadette School in Springfield. Her experience spans preschool through eighth grade. She has a bachelor’s from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg and a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University, an online school based in Utah.
Peter Schultz, the new principal at Epiphany School in Culpeper, has more than 30 years of experience in education as a teacher and an administrator. He has served as a Catholic school principal in the Archdiocese of New York, the Archdiocese of Atlanta and in the Arlington diocese at St. John the Beloved Academy in McLean. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., his master’s from Cortland State University in New York and his Certificate of Advanced Study from Oswego State University in New York.
Ann Stich is the new principal of St. Joseph School in Herndon. She is starting her 27th year in Catholic education. She has a bachelor’s in early childhood education and family studies from the State University of New York at Oneonta and a master’s in multicultural and elementary education from the College of Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx. She earned a certification in school administration from the College of New Rochelle in New York. Stich was assistant principal and preschool director at St. Philip Early Childhood Center in Falls Church (formerly part of Corpus Christi School) for 11 years and then assistant principal at Holy Spirit School in Annandale for five years.
Diarmuid Wheeler is the new headmaster of Chelsea Academy in Front Royal. Previously a Chelsea faculty member, he was the first instructor selected by his peers to be honored with the Michael Echaniz Teacher of the Year Award. More recently, Wheeler led the history and humanities departments at Mount Academy in Esopus, N.Y., where he was instrumental in redeveloping the curriculum and teacher professional development programs. A native of Ireland, Wheeler earned a bachelor’s as well as a master’s in military history and strategic studies from Maynooth University before completing a doctorate in history at the University of Galway.
