The boys and girls track and field teams for St. John Paul the Great Catholic High School in Potomac Shores took first and third place, respectively, at the Virginia State Catholic Track and Field Championships this season. Members of the John Paul the Great wrestling team pose for a photo after a fifth-place finish at the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state tournament, the highest finish in school history. Seven starters earned all-state honors and the team sent a school-record four individuals to the prep national tournament due to their respective top 4 finishes. The girls lacrosse team at John Paul the Great capped off an undefeated regular season by winning the Virginia Christian Athletic Conference championship at home May 8 against Trinity Christian School in Fairfax.
