St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly announced that its academic team — Finn Hargadon (’26), Indra Malli (’27), Gus Radkowski (’27) and Ethan Tran (’26) — earned a decisive victory on the popular quiz show “It’s Academic,” defeating teams from Wheaton High School in Silver Spring, Md., and Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Md.
The winning match was broadcast on WETA-TV Oct. 25.
David Campbell, PVI team moderator, prepared the team for the competition.
“A major part of our victory was due to the strength of our overall team — not just in knowledge but also in camaraderie,” said senior team member Tran. “Being in the It’s Academic Club for my entire PVI career, I’ve seen how each team our school sends to the competition gets stronger and stronger each year. This win for Finn, Indra, Gus and me is truly a testament to our abilities to think sharply and work seamlessly together. This is also a big win for me personally. As a senior, it’s a great honor to be able to represent PVI in my final year here.”
“It’s Academic,” the world’s longest-running high school quiz program, showcases students’ knowledge across a range of subjects and highlights the dedication of teachers, families, and school communities.
