The Serra Club of Arlington recognized its chaplain, Msgr. Robert J. Rippy, last month on his designation by Pope Francis as “Monsignor” and “Chaplain to His Holiness.”
At the Dec. 10 monthly meeting, club members expressed their appreciation to Msgr. Rippy for his guidance and support of the club’s mission.
The local chapter of Serra USA and Serra International, consists of lay Catholics of all ages and from all walks of life who promote vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. Founded in 2005, under the direction of then Bishop Paul S. Loverde, the club continues to grow in membership and outreach across the diocese to encourage vocations and support the diocesan vocations office.
