Two diocesan women profess solemn vows as Servidora sisters

Two young women from the Arlington diocese completed their journey to religious life during a special Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington Sept. 15, making their solemn profession with the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará, or Servidoras.

Servidora Sister Marie Notre Dame de l’Espérance, formerly Juliette Guilloux, was a parishioner of St. William of York Church in Stafford. Her brother is Father Edouard B. Guilloux, parochial vicar of St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Middleburg and St. Katharine Drexel Mission in Haymarket. She attended the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg and is currently missioned in Tunisia.

Servidora Sister Mary of the Transfiguration, formerly Anilia Rivera, was a parishioner of St. Raymond of Peñafort Church in Springfield. She attended Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Fla., and is currently missioned in New Bedford, Mass.

Both women participated in the diocesan FIAT Summer Camp and women’s discernment group activities.

Several diocesan priests attended the Mass in the basilica’s Crypt Church, including Fathers John C. De Celles, pastor of St. Raymond; Guilloux; Richard A. Miserendino, chaplain at UMW Catholic Campus Ministry; Robert C. Renner, parochial vicar of All Saints Catholic Church; Christopher Vaccaro, parochial vicar of St. Theresa Church in Ashburn; and Stephen Vaccaro, parochial vicar of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Winchester.
