Bishop Michael F. Burbidge will celebrate vespers with exposition and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament to inaugurate the Diocesan Golden Jubilee Year “Renew” at St. Michael Church in Annandale, Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. A reception will follow.
The Golden Jubilee year is the culmination of a three-year celebration of the 50th anniversary of the diocese’s founding. The celebratory year was preceded by two years of preparation with themes “Remember” and “Rejoice.” The preparatory years encouraged the faithful to reflect on the diocese’s history and celebrate its current vitality.
The year “Renew” features the theme “Behold I make all things new” and will celebrate continued spiritual growth in the diocese.
