Diocesan parishioners are invited to advocate for life at the fourth annual Virginia Pro-Life Day in Richmond Jan. 29.
The day will open with morning programming at the Greater Richmond Convention Center 8:30–9 a.m. Pro-lifers will then meet with their state legislators at the Virginia General Assembly Building 10–11 a.m. Bishop Michael F. Burbidge and Richmond Bishop Barry E. Knestout will celebrate Mass at noon at St. Peter’s Pro-Cathedral in downtown Richmond. Late-arriving pro-lifers will have an opportunity to visit their legislators after the adjournment of floor sessions around 2 p.m. at the General Assembly Building.
“Extreme abortion bills continue to gather momentum at the Virginia General Assembly. Direct engagement by pro-life constituents with the legislators who represent them in the state Senate and House of Delegates is critical,” said Jeff Caruso, executive director of the Virginia Catholic Conference. “Virginia Pro-Life Day is a vitally important opportunity to do exactly that.”
