The Office of Youth, Campus and Young Adult Ministries honored volunteers who work with youths in parishes and on campuses for their dedication and contributions at a dinner Dec. 13 at St. Joseph Church in Herndon.
Bishop Michael F. Burbidge celebrated Mass and presented several major awards at the dinner. Carmen Briceño, who also contributes to the Catholic Herald, was awarded excellence in youth ministry; Danielle Zuccaro, Associates of St. John Bosco, received the ex corde award for service in college campus ministry; Alison Fram, Church of the Nativity in Burke, was recognized for excellence in young adult ministry; Paul Miller, St. William of York Church in Stafford, earned the Bishop Loverde Award for his dedication to diocesan youth events; and Joyce Krolicki, St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly, garnered the More Award for longtime, outstanding service to young people.
More than 25 local Catholics who serve youth and young adult ministries in the diocese were also honored as volunteers of the year. They are as follows:
