{"id":90120,"date":"2023-04-17T14:03:28","date_gmt":"2023-04-17T18:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.catholicherald.com\/?post_type=article&#038;p=90120"},"modified":"2023-04-17T14:05:25","modified_gmt":"2023-04-17T18:05:25","slug":"el-papa-menciona-el-acuerdo-de-viernes-santo-que-trajo-la-paz-a-irlanda-del-norte","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.catholicherald.com\/es\/article\/en-espanol\/internacional\/el-papa-menciona-el-acuerdo-de-viernes-santo-que-trajo-la-paz-a-irlanda-del-norte\/","title":{"rendered":"El Papa menciona el \u201cAcuerdo de Viernes Santo\u201d que trajo la paz a Irlanda del Norte"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><p>Al finalizar el rezo del Regina Coeli del Lunes 10 de abril de la Octava de Pascua, el Papa Francisco record\u00f3 que el 10 de abril se cumplen 25 a\u00f1os del llamado \u201cAcuerdo de Viernes Santo o de Belfast\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En el marco de este aniversario, el Santo Padre se\u00f1al\u00f3 que este acuerdo \u201cpuso fin a la violencia que hab\u00eda perturbado a Irlanda del Norte durante d\u00e9cadas\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>El tambi\u00e9n conocido como \u201cAcuerdo de Belfast\u201d fue firmado el 10 de abril de 1998, Viernes Santo, por el gobierno brit\u00e1nico y el irland\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Por medio de este acuerdo, se puso fin al conflicto en Irlanda del Norte, responsable de numerosas muertes durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX.<\/p>\n<p>Este conflicto armado hab\u00eda enfrentado a los unionistas de Irlanda del Norte, (partidarios de mantener la conexi\u00f3n con el Reino Unido), con los republicanos irlandeses, en su mayor\u00eda cat\u00f3licos que defend\u00edan la integraci\u00f3n del territorio en la Rep\u00fablica de Irlanda.<\/p>\n<p>Con esp\u00edritu de gratitud, el Papa Francisco rog\u00f3 \u201cal Dios de la paz que lo conseguido en aquel hist\u00f3rico paso se consolide en beneficio de todos los hombres y mujeres de la isla de Irlanda\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, pidi\u00f3 invocar el don de la paz para el mundo entero, \u201cespecialmente para la querida y martirizada Ucrania\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Al finalizar el rezo del Regina Coeli del Lunes 10 de abril de la Octava de Pascua, el Papa Francisco record\u00f3 que el 10 de abril se cumplen 25 a\u00f1os del llamado \u201cAcuerdo de Viernes Santo o de Belfast\u201d.
