"I really appreciate Bishop Loverde's commitment to youth and young adult ministry. My time in the Catholic Campus Ministry at (University of) Mary Washington was very important to my spiritual growth, and I know that ministry was made possible in part by Bishop Loverde's commitment to youth and young adult ministry."

"I have had the pleasure of being an altar server for Bishop Loverde three times. It was such an honor to be there with him. He is a kind and gentle man and I am so lucky I had the opportunity to serve for him."

Curtis Kasiski, Sophomore at St. John Paul the Great High School

"People who think bishops have it easy, have never seen Bishop Loverde's schedule. His meetings far exceeded just public events and we used to laugh that he had more stamina than many of us had in our 20s. He would attend events, such as confirmations, in the evening, and then return to his residence to work on homilies and such late into the night. His dedication has been so inspiring to many of us who have worked with him-- what a great example."

Caitlin Bootsma former interim communications director

"Last year, for the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul (Jan. 25), we were privileged to be with Bishop Loverde. One of the sisters had recently published a "Time-Travel Adventure" series for children, called the Gospel Time Trekkers. In talking about it, Bishop Loverde expressed an interest in seeing them. After receiving them, he read the whole series and made a point of letting Sister Grace know how delighted he was with them. He then recommended it to several priests who made sure to get copies for nieces or nephews"
