    Grants Specialist

    The Grants Specialist reviews, analyzes and evaluates proposals seeking funding for community organizing and economic development. Proposals are submitted by groups of poor and low-income persons from around the country. The Grants Specialist monitors approved proposals in collaboration with local diocesan directors and conducts periodic on-site visits to funded projects.

    Strong communications skills; Competence in conducting training sessions for individuals and groups; Experience in the organization of low-income communities; experience with Catholic Campaign for Human Development-funded projects is helpful.  Working knowledge of grant-making and other philanthropic enterprise Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching; Working knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and its structures; Literacy in MS WORD and Gifts environments; Familiarity with community-based economic development. Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree desirable. Liberal Arts, Theology, Social Work and /or five years related work experience.
