New principals for Bishop Ireton and St. Thomas Aquinas

Sister Kateri Rose Masters of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, principal of St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School in Woodbridge, was born in Columbus, Ohio. She earned her bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies with a certification in elementary education from Aquinas College in Nashville, Tenn., in 2009, and her master’s in educational administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., in 2013. Currently, she is pursuing a second master’s in theology through Providence College in Providence, R.I.

Sister Kateri Rose has seven years of teaching experience. She taught at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Carmel, Ind., from 2008 to 2013, and at St. Pius V School in Providence, R.I., from 2013 to 2015. She holds a P-12 building administrator’s certification from Indiana.

Sister Kateri Rose replaces Sister Martha Ann Titus, who served as principal 2013-15.

Denise Tobin, director of instruction for Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, was born in Philadelphia. She earned a bachelor’s in biology from Stockton State College in Pomona, N.J., in 1976. She earned her teaching certification from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., in 1996, and her master’s in education administration from the University of Scranton in 2009.

Tobin has 15 years of teaching and eight years of administrative experience, all of which took place at St. John Neumann Regional Academy High School in Williamsport, Pa. She served as the school’s principal since 2009 and has a K-12 principal certification from Pennsylvania.

Tobin and her husband, John, have three children and two grandchildren. She replaces Stephen Crooker who served as director of instruction from 2013-2015.
