Barbara McGraw Edmondson, former Chief Leadership and
Program Officer with the National Catholic Educational Association, will become
the Head of School at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington
July 1.
At the NCEA, Edmondson developed a vision for Catholic
school education in the United States.
Prior to that, she was superintendent of Catholic schools
for the Archdiocese of Baltimore where she oversaw 68 schools and directed the
development and execution of a school governance model, revising curriculum,
establishing a comprehensive teacher certification protocol, and developing partnerships
with three Catholic universities.
Edmondson earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Montclair
State University in New Jersey, and a doctorate in education at George
Washington University in Washington.
