New Head of School at Visitation Preparatory School

Barbara McGraw Edmondson, former Chief Leadership and Program Officer with the National Catholic Educational Association, will become the Head of School at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington July 1.

At the NCEA, Edmondson developed a vision for Catholic school education in the United States.

Prior to that, she was superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, where she oversaw 68 schools and directed the development and execution of a school governance model, revising curriculum, establishing a comprehensive teacher certification protocol, and developed partnerships with three Catholic universities.

Edmondson earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Montclair State University in New Jersey, and a doctorate in education at George Washington University in Washington.
