First slide

Founded in 1950 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM), Marymount University in Arlington is a private, coed Catholic university offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in a wide range of disciplines in four schools: School of Business Administration, Malek School of Health Professions, School of Education and Human Services, and School of Arts and Sciences. Marymount is committed to its Catholic mission and identity, providing a values-based, liberal arts education that promotes both intellectual and spiritual development. All undergraduates take religious studies, theology and philosophy courses as part of their core curriculum. A Marymount education offers real-world preparation within majors that serve diverse career tracks.

Ranked consistently No. 1 or No. 2 for diversity among top colleges in the South (U.S. News & World Report), Marymount is a thriving and close-knit international community recognized for nurturing a global perspective. Its suburban 21-acre main campus in Arlington is near Washington with all its historic, cultural and national/international resources. Student-centered education is enhanced by small classes (13:1 class ratio); faculty-mentor engagement; and hands-on opportunities in research, internships and study abroad programs. Scholarship and service at Marymount integrate seamlessly into community work, inspiring students to a lifelong devotion to service.

Student athletes compete in 17 NCAA Division III varsity sports. Marymount’s Campus Ministry, with programs open to everyone regardless of faith, tradition and beliefs, encourages individuals to examine and deepen their faith and to live ethically responsible lives.

Marymount’s new Ballston Center, a mixed-use complex includes a nine-story academic/office building and 12-story residential/retail building with multi-level underground parking, opened for the 2017-18 academic year. Marymount’s free shuttle buses transport students to and from the main campus. The first six floors of the academic tower house the business school, and graduate programs in the counseling department and the forensic and legal psychology department. The space includes classrooms, seminar/training rooms, cybersecurity lab, forensic research room, counseling labs, digital learning labs, administrative offices, auditorium, library, contemporary art gallery, café and chapel.
