Fr. Creedon named Peacemaker of the Year

Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore will present the Peacemaker of
the Year Award to Father Gerry Creedon, pastor of Holy Family
Church in Dale City, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3304
Washington Blvd., Arlington, Nov. 14. The event will begin
with the Vigil Mass at 5 p.m. followed by a dinner in
Benedict Hall.

Father Creedon has served the Arlington Diocese for 47 years,
including as pastor of Good Shepherd Church in Alexandria and
St. Charles Church in Arlington, and as the founding pastor
of the diocesan mission in Bánica, Dominican Republic.

In addition to his parish assignments, Father Creedon has
served as executive director of Arlington Catholic Charities,
diocesan director of Catholic Relief Services and the
Campaign for Human Development, and founder of Catholics for
Housing and Gabriel Homes for people with disabilities. He is
the founder and chairman of the Arlington Peace and Justice
Commission.
