Interfaith Thanksgiving prayer service in Vienna

For the past 17 years, churches in and around Vienna have celebrated a community interfaith Thanksgiving prayer service on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Started by the Shepherd Center of Oakton/Vienna, proceeds from the event support The Lamb Center and Committee for Helping Others (CHO). The service will be held Nov. 22 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 8601 Wolftrap Rd., Vienna, at 7:30 p.m. The theme, "A Community Gives Thanks," will feature readings, prayers and music based on the psalms of thanksgiving. 


Participating churches include Antioch Christian Church, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Emmaus United Christian Church, Unity of Fairfax, First Baptist Church, Vienna Baptist Church, Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Oakton United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church.
