The seventh annual national conference, hosted by the Institute
for Catholic Liberal Education and The Catholic University of America in
Washington, will be held July 22-25 at Catholic U., 620 Michigan Ave., N.E.
The event draws Catholic educators, including superintendents,
school leaders, teachers and clergy, from across the U.S. and abroad. The theme
for this year’s conference is “Freedom in Christ.”
“The excitement building around authentic renewal of our Catholic
schools is such a joy to see,” said Michael Van Hecke, founder and president of
ICLE. “We are so pleased to bring all these passionate and committed educators
together at CUA.”
Speakers at the conference include Mary Rice Hasson, director of
the Catholic Women’s Forum; Father Frank Brawner, pastor of St. Agatha Academy
in Winchester, Ky., and ICLE chaplain; Gregory Roper, associate professor of
English at the University of Dallas; and Andrew Seeley, director of advanced
formation at ICLE.
