The Bishop Ireton girls lacrosse team established itself as a
dynasty by defeating Good Counsel 16-11 for the Washington Catholic Athletic
Conference girls lacrosse crown May 7 at Ludwig Field on the campus of the
University of Maryland at College Park. Sophomore Reilly Casey led the team
with five goals and two assists as the Cardinals seized an early lead and held
off a late Falcons' rally. The Cardinals will now turn their attention to
defending their state championship in the Virginia Independent Schools
Athletic Association bracket, which starts May 15.
