New football coach for Paul VI

Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax has named Mike Grandizio head football coach.

Coach Grandizio served in the U. S. Air Force, and has coached local high school football teams for more than 10 years at Lake Braddock, Oakton and Paul VI. For the past eight years, he has overseen the weight training and conditioning program at Paul VI.

"Coach G. has a great plan and vision for PVI Football. We expect our program to see immediate success," said athletic director Billy Emerson.

Grandizio is assembling an experienced staff including former Centreville High School assistant coach Mark Collier, former head coach and college coach Pat McGroarty, Paul VI head wrestling coach Mike Eastman, Paul VI head track coach Dennis Hutson and others associated with success and the Paul VI community.

"The PVI family has been very dear and important to me," Grandizio said. "I am excited about this responsibility."
