Tips for ‘attending’ virtual Mass

First slide

Fr. Stephen M. Vaccaro, parochial vicar at Church of the Nativity in Burke, presents advice for watching Mass online or on TV.

Treat Mass as you would in person. Dress up.

Rule out distractions; don’t try to multitask.

Before Mass starts, place yourself in the presence of God. Still yourself.

Do the gestures (sit, stand and kneel, if possible).

Follow the readings (on your phone or personal Bible).

Say the responses.

Sing the hymns.

Make a spiritual communion (nativityburke.org/prayer-of-spiritual-communion/).
