VCC tracks legislators’ votes on key issues

The Virginia Catholic Conference, representing the dioceses
of Arlington and Richmond,
recently published charts showing local legislators’
votes
on issues considered during the 2016 General
Assembly session Jan. 13-March 11.

Of the 2,100 bills considered by the General Assembly, the
VCC took formal positions on more than 100 bills and budget
amendments. Among those bills was VCC-supported legislation
to defund Planned Parenthood and protect the rights of
religious organizations and clergy, as well as VCC-opposed
legislation to expand the use of the electric chair in death
penalty cases.
