Hypothermia shelter

Thomas Mcintyre

I applaud the recent article on the Hypothermia shelter week at St. John Neumann. It is an important ministry for the less fortunate and St. John’s has been a faithful participant for many years. However, it is important to note that St. John’s week is but one of a schedule of 18 Hypothermia weeks per year administered by FACETS and with at least 35 other churches involved. The article did not acknowledge this overall program but treated St. John’s week as if it were unique. It is also a sad note that only 2 Catholic churches are currently part of this lifesaving program, St. Johns and St. Mary of Sorrows. Hopefully, this will change soon.
