  • Things that make us happy this week Vol. 4

Hello readers! Here at the Catholic Herald, we’ve noticed that our collective physical isolation has led to a lot of creativity, often showcased online. Throughout this pandemic, we’ll be bringing you fun and uplifting videos, photos and posts from people throughout the diocese. Let’s get right to it!

—Before having the last online classes with his graduating students, David Owens, a religion teacher at Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, decorated his background with a congratulatory banner, blue balloons and O'Connell apparel. Way to celebrate the seniors!

—St. Louis School in Alexandria challenged its students to recreate children's book covers or works of art from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, and the kids' look-alike photos did not disappoint.

—The Tessiers, also known as the Tessier Family Singers, created a music video parody of Billy Joel' s "For the Longest Time" with their own "For the Longest Quarantine." Dad Rob Tessier runs the Upper Room Theater Ministries out of All Saint Catholic Church in Manassas, and it's clear theatrics are this family's specialty.

—Thanks to reader and parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Winchester Pam Bell for sharing what makes her happy: these angelic figurines.
