Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax received an outstanding performance by goalie Gretchen Bennett and a tenacious defensive effort in its 1-0 victory over St. John’s College High School in Washington to capture its first conference championship in soccer since 1993. Senior Gabriella Gordon scored the game’s lone goal on an assist from Maya Anand. Bennet recorded 17 saves on the night.
