An Alexandria couple continues the family tradition of a Christmastime wedding.

Two religious sisters in the Diocese of Arlington marked jubilee anniversaries with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Michael F. Burbidge at St. Luke Church in McLean Feb. 1. Benedictine Sister Charlotte Lange and Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary Sister Jacqueline Ann Murphy, who was unable to attend, were recognized for decades of service to the church. Following Mass, a celebratory luncheon was served. 

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the arrival of the new library, cafeteria, gym and STEM laboratories.  

Opened in 2001, De La Salle is a founding member of the Cristo Rey Network, the only association of high schools in the country that integrates college preparatory academics with four years of professional work experience. The first Cristo Rey school began in Chicago in 1996; there are now 37 such schools nationwide; all serve low-income populations. 

A mosaic of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, was unveiled in Washington Jan. 26, in time for the 175th anniversary of the society's establishment in the United States.
