Bishop Burbidge began his homily by congratulating the students on their impressive singing during Mass. “It's beautiful to see how well you sing,” he said. “I'm sure you please the Lord very much with lifting your voices in song and you participate so reverently. It's very, very inspiring.”

“We wish every donor and volunteer could witness firsthand the inspiring transformations we’ve had the privilege of seeing before our eyes,” said Moore. “Meeting the babies born into this world under the care of Mary’s Comfort and hearing the testimonials of their mothers is absolutely the fuel that sets us on fire to do more.”

The path of the St. Augustine Camino is the same one taken by pilgrims for nearly a thousand years. “In Canterbury, we went to St. Dunstan’s Church where the head of St. Thomas More is buried with his daughter,” said Peter. “After he was executed, his head was stuck on a pole and she managed to bribe someone to get it.”

“There was always this creeping feeling that my soul was atrophying,” said Marmalejo, 46, a husband and father of five who worked nine years as a high school history teacher and guidance counselor. “I got enchanted by the idea of living an entirely different life, restoring cabins and working with my hands in a more adventurous life.”
