Christ the Redeemer Church in Sterling hosted a free dental clinic Nov. 15, sponsored by the nonprofit Hope for Tomorrow. Since 2005, Hope for Tomorrow has hosted the dental clinic for those in Northern Virginia who cannot afford dental insurance and dental care.
Family-friendly pop music filled the gym at St. Theresa School in Ashburn as hundreds of adults and children donning hairnets measured, poured, and packaged thousands of meals. Seven balloons forming the number “1,000,000” hovered above the gym’s stage, motivating the volunteers.
Throughout the week, staff packed backpacks with essential supplies, religious materials, gift cards and handwritten notes for individuals transitioning from incarceration back into society.
St. James Church in Falls Church hosted a service project marathon for the inaugural Diocesan Week of Service Nov. 11. The Arlington diocese’s Diocesan Week of Service began Nov. 9 and runs through Nov. 16.
