What’s your parish’s history? In Haymarket, the first Mass of Convenience was celebrated Sept. 10, 2000, at Pace West Elementary School by Father Joseph P. Biniek, pastor of St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Middleburg. It is estimated that 135 people attended the first Mass.
What’s distinctive about your parish? Originally founded in 1890, St. Paul Mission today has a brand-new, beautiful, country-style Catholic church, dedicated in March 2022.
We are located in Hague, part of Virginia’s Northern Neck peninsular region, where the Potomac and Rappahannock rivers meet the Chesapeake Bay.
Our Lady of La Vang Mission is a Vietnamese Catholic community named after the apparition of Mary to a group of Catholics at La Vang, Vietnam, who were hiding in the jungles to avoid religious persecution in the late 19th century.

St. Paul Chung Church in Fairfax, created to serve the Korean population in the diocese, is one of the largest Korean Catholic parishes in the United States. After 10-plus years as a mission church, Bishop John R. Keating dedicated St. Paul Chung Church in Fairfax Feb. 1, 1996, and established it as the 61st parish in the Arlington diocese.

Following the example of its patron, St. Francis de Sales Church in Purcellville is committed to acts of service, generosity and evangelization.
What’s distinctive about your parish?
The wood and stone interior of St. Thomas à Becket Church in Reston may remind parishioners and newcomers alike of Christ’s sacrifice upon the wood of the cross on Mt. Calvary. Natural light and the circular structure of the church foster unity among parishioners during the liturgy and celebration of Mass.

Located in the heart of rolling hills that line the Blue Ridge Mountains, St. Isidore the Farmer Church in Orange has led the faithful of Orange County to Christ for more than two decades.
St. Matthew Church in Spotsylvania was first established as a mission of St. Patrick Church in Fredericksburg before growing to become a parish in 1999. The parish has grown to serve about 700 families.
St. Raymond of Peñaort Church in Springfield was established in 1997 by Bishop John R. Keating with a house on Triple Ridge Road serving as the first rectory and a daily Mass chapel. In 2003, the parish broke ground on a new church, parish hall, library and rectory that stands today.
