Dominican sister, former principal celebrates silver jubilee

Former principal of St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School in Woodbridge and Dominican Sister of St. Cecilia, Sister Mary Sheila Maksim celebrated 25 years of religious profession July 13 in Nashville, Tenn.

Sister Mary Sheila was born in Santa Clara, Calif., and after making her first profession of vows in 1999, she has served in seven states, D.C. and now, Ireland. During her tenure with the diocese, Sister Mary Sheila was the chair for the jubilee subcommittee on consecrated life, where she assisted in creating, compiling and writing the introduction to resource booklets on the rosary and the Eucharist in preparation for the Diocesan Golden Jubilee. Sister Mary Sheila is currently serving at St. Saviour’s Dominican Church in Limerick, Ireland.
